We've just been informed that the International Podcast Oscars are rescinding our many awards, claiming that we are no longer an "ongoing podcast," whatever that means.
Needless to say, this is an outrage. These awards are won, and ours forever, and we have no intention of giving them back.
It's not our fault that our episodes weren't being released. We were recording episodes THE WHOLE TIME.
The only thing we're guilty of is not having any control over, or knowledge of, the day-to-day operations of the Award-winning Podcast with our names on it.
The I.P.O.'s say that it IS our fault.
We have been in contact with legal representation, law enforcement agencies, professional gamblers, and faith healers to explore all options we have going forward.
The I.P.O.'s can no longer be allowed to act as an elite criminal cabal with unchecked power over the world's podcasts. No more.
We WILL be appealing this decision. There is no other option.
This decision is only tarnishing the reputation of the International Podcast Oscars, not the Award-Winning Thrustcast.
Our status in the world of Podcasting is set in stone, forever one of The Greats. Everybody, even our haters, agree.
Future awards from the I.P.O.'s will never have any meaning if the organization (corrupt to its core) can just take it back at the whims of the maniacs who serve on its board.
This can't be allowed to happen. If they can come after us, one of the most powerful Podcasts in history, who will be next?
We made the I.P.O.'s what they are. Before they started giving us Awards, they were nobody, a nothing group of award-givers with no podcasts to give them to.
Nobody knew or cared who or what the I.P.O.'s were before us.
Now they're going to take their awards back? From our cold, dead microphones.
Not only are we calling on the International Podcast Oscars to allow us to keep our awards, we are calling on them to aid in our investigation of how the original Award-Winning Thrustcast went off the air.
The situation was completely out of our hands, and ultimately we had nothing to do with it.
Our last producer, who we never met, made the decision to stop releasing episodes years ago, for reasons that remain unclear.
Our investigation includes finding out who our producer was, and why they bamboozled us. We also intend to find every last second of unreleased Podcast we ever recorded.
We will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of this mystery, and it's now our life's work. Or at least whatever part of our lives the podcast was already.
It's a process that we expect could take months, years, or decades, and expect the I.P.O. to help any way they can.
WE WILL FIND THE TAPES!!
This whole undertaking — investigating the rogue producer, recovering the Lost Tapes from the Thrustcast Archives, relaunching the podcast to its former glory — is going to take a lot of resources.
Especially until the International Podcast Oscars step in to help, which we expect they will.
We of course have plenty of resources of our own, since the podcast was and remains extremely successful, even without new episodes going out.
But we'd rather have somebody else pay for it all. It's just easier that way. And cheaper.
